Kristin Demel

Retail Strategy Director

Kristin comes to Callahan from PetSmart. In her role as senior director of merchandising, Kristin and her team were responsible for assortment strategy, merchandising, and promotion. Kristin was also responsible for all key vendor relationships and negotiations. She and her team represented nearly a billion dollars in annual sales. Prior to PetSmart, Kristin was a director of planning and distribution at Payless ShoeSource.

Kristin provides retail strategy at Callahan—an exciting new expertise for our clients. This includes retail strategy creation, assortment building, merchandising, and pricing and promotions across brick and mortar and ecommerce channels. Her experience with buying, financial planning, forecasting, demand planning, inventory management and space optimization all benefit our clients in growing and maximizing distribution.

Her retail strategy expertise, combined with data derived from our Intelligence Platform, improves our ability to provide front-end data analysis and predictive data modeling, and provides Callahan with a powerful differentiation from other agencies. As a strong strategic partner, Callahan drives business results with both sell-in and sell-through transactions—ultimately creating sustainable, long-term profitability for our clients.

A passionate cook, Kristin loves meal planning—which, as the mother of twin five-year-olds, is a real lifesaver. She also loves shopping—for anything and everything.  So much, that she blurs the line between work and fun as it relates to retail!

Her retail strategy experience improves our ability to provide informed front-end data analysis and predictive data modeling.
